The biggest sporting event in the world, FIFA World Cup 2014, will kick off next week on June 12, 2014 in Brazil - a country that has produced some of the greatest soccer legends like Pelé. This is a great opportunity for advertisers to engage with some of the most passionate sporting fans.

More than 3.2 billion viewers1 watched the 2010 Soccer World Cup globally. Since 2010, the engagement with soccer content on mobile devices has increased from 16% to 63%2. With this year’s World Cup, 23% of the soccer fans plan to watch live matches on tablets, and 11% on smartphones, while 25% of the fans plan to watch the highlights on a tablet, and 23% on a smartphone3.
